I think CORE and all active members should shut this website down right now and let all the non paying members feel the misery without this site...
That's why we need paid website, so info can be passed to only paid members who are really serious about these issues

.... you want to get entry on H1b for the time period on new h1b approval, you need to get the visa stamped from US consulate (for the same time as new H1b validity period). Otherwise you will be allowed to enter for remaining time period for old approval.
This is not correct.
One can use unexpired H-1B visa stamp along with the latest I-797 to get I-94 date as mentioned in the I-797 approval notice.

See my comments below.Answers are something I have used in my In Laws application.
While filling the application online for parents visa interview what would be a better answer for the following questions:
Who Will Pay For Your Trip?
Children(in US)
What would be a better answer?
Self.
OR
Children(in U.S)
Does it even matter?
Are Any of The Following Persons in The U.S., or Do They Have U.S. Legal Permanent Residence or U.S. Citizenship? *
Mark YES or NO and indicate that person's status in the U.S. (i.e., U.S. legal permanent resident, U.S. citizen, visiting, studying, working, etc.).
Bother/Sister etc.
Mention about the people(siblings of parents) that are here

I was thinking more along the lines of transfering from US Public education school system to either ICSE, CBSE or Maharashtra Sate Board.
Upto what standard would it be relatively eay for a child to adapt and integrate into the Indian system ?

because many of the IOs are dumb high school grads with some additional training. They have been told that 2006 is current and so they pick all and only 2006.
is there any way we can get DOS to specifically state that 2006 and all prior years ARE CURRENT instead of just throwing out a current PD in a VB?
Thankfully, not all IOs are so dumb, hence the few pre-2006 approvals. What else could explain this anomaly..... :mad:

Well we had Hindu marriage in May. We have our marriage card, pictures, witnesses etc. So I was under the impression that I would be able to get certificate from registrar. Here is info I got

Under the Hindu Marriage Act:
Parties to the marriage have to apply to the Registrar in whose jurisdiction the marriage is solemnised or to the Registrar in whose jurisdiction either party to the marriage has been residing at least for six months immediately preceding the date of marriage. Eligible for 3 years if I140 is approved and you can't file I485 because of retrogression. But you said , you had already filed I485. I doubt you are eligible for 3 year extension.
thats not how USCIS interprets this (see the FAQ they released recently). They will give you a 3 year extension if 485 cannot be APPROVED because PD is not current, not only in the case where 485 cannot be FILED.
The wording of AC21 is a bit vague (3 year extension eligibility once 485 is filed) but USCIS interpretation has been clear until now in what they have been doing, and with the FAQ they even put it in print!

IO told me in infopass that she can't tell me about my name check and don't worry about it since 180 day rule applies ,....i guess she had good knowledge of the rule

Will the past 140 revoke issue, trigger any RFE?
When I send my all H1B renewal papers, do I need to enclose my 485 receipt copy? or also the MTR(Motion to Reopen)copy?

First and foremost, you need to fire attorney for not using his/her reasonable skill of not appropriately matching you to the labor suitable to you.
You need to have second thoughts on your employer/attorney, as their actions resulted loss of precious time and money, more importantly for making you loose EAD and AP, if approved, based on underlying 140 which is now denied.
It could take some more months, before you are able to file for 485 again.
Always trust experienced attorneys, don't make use of 'me too attorneys', who might have faked their resume, like some IT pros do.

I believe you should send what ever you have with a good cover letter about the unavailability & about the documents submitted originally. That might turn it in to an approval soon, hopefully.

I don't know the answer and would be interested to know, however in case if your friend flys via destinations like UK then he might face issues while going back. If the current US visa stamp is expired for an indian citizen, transit visa is needed. So keep that too in mind.
