As IV grows maybe this is a help IV can extend to all its donor members and help them if they get in such extreme distress situations. This is one of the ideas we are thinking for our members in the donor group.

You are cutting it too close. If her flight is delayed, you are at risk.
My suggestion is to have her get here sooner to give you folks enough time to get things done and to allow room for unexpected delays.

Not related to this thread but I did not want to open a new thread for this question..
As you can see I am EB2-I (info above) and am waiting in line for my turn but I am just wondering if L1 route to GC is quicker? If so then how?
Not that I am trying to do it because I can not :) but I know someone who just got his GC via L1 in matter of months and here we all EB guys are waiting..

Yes you are right, there is bound to have EAD flood in market, with spouses of hi-tech worker will come to market to search hi-tech job with spouse phone support. I have seen such cases countless times in past few years and yes they will be in future without exception. However, matter of fact, these fresh EAD (previous H4) don't get the dream job in first attempt, it takes good 2 year to find a similar job that H1b hitech worker does.
But thats the realty of market, every year new jobs are added and every year new job seekers join the crowd.
On the otherside, a hitech worker is suppose to always learning something new and getting his/her position more stronger everyday, its a knowledge market, whoever knows more gets better $$. With my 7yr US exp and total 10 yrs CS exp I have no scare that any single fresh EAD will come close to me. A senior is always a senior no matter which field you talk.

I think whey you try to send fax, it says how many faxes are sent so far. After that no info. If anybody is sending the fax, can you just update how many #10 and #11 were sent.

If you are planning on taking action against the attorney for fraud and mis representation, you may want to file a complaint in the bar of the state where your attorney practices. If USCIS says, there is no problem to continue with our employment as long as we have applied for EAD renewal, there wouldn't be all this emotions. Every one would have normal BP. They must just come out and say that I would be ok to continue working.
It is so inhuman to treat us like this. They say "The day EAD expires, you must quit working until you receive the new EAD card".
Most of our jobs are replaceable in today's world. There is no shortage of "skilled workers". So, I for sure cannot take a long leave and wait for EAD to come by and re-join....because my job would be gone by then to some other "skilled" person. And its not easy to get another one quickly and without moving to a different place.
Is it OK to take paid vacation when EAD expires ?? or Do we need to take unpaid vacation.
My EAD is pending for 100 days now. I still have have 18 days to go. I applied 118 days before... I tried all the ways, I can but none of them yet worked. Took infopass appointment, contacted senator, called USCIS and expadaite, sent mail to Ombudsman (no response at all).
Totally frustrated ...

I noticed it after I made payment via credit card.....so it was too late to make any corrections.
But I am yet to send the supporting documents to USCIS to adjudicate this application.
What should I do:
1) Send letter, explaining the correct DOB, while sending all other documents
OR
2) Wait for RFE
OR
3) Revoke this and file another

I was able to successfully port my EB3 to EB2 and received my GC last month. I am working for a mid-size American consulting firm. My background is Bachelors in Computers from India and did Masters in Computers from US.
I filed my EB3 labor in AUG 2005 and got both labor and I140 approved in two months.
Filed 485 in July 2007 & got EAD/AP.
Went to my Employer and requested them to either refile my application for EB2 or I will have to resign. Since I was already working as PM, it was easy for my Employer to file for EB2 for PM position.
Filed EB2 labor in March 2009, Got approved in Jan 2010
Got EB2 I140 approved in March 2010
Late March Case transferred to Local Office.
Personal Interview in May 2010 - IO was not sure why i was called for interview. No Questions asked and told to wait till date gets current.
Date got current in July.
- Call multiple times 800 number only standard response
- Went to local office and request update. IO told to wait for a week. 2 days later on 14th July got my GC approved.
I believe even if you get your GC 6 months early by porting dates, its worth it. I hope my story helps you.

So, from the time they received it to time time it took for me to receive the document is 66 days..not bad at all, considering what some other poor folks are going through.
There are other guys here at work whose time line is nearly same as mine, give or take a week. One fellow got his in 50 days. He has travel coing up in the last week on Dec, so he had called to check on his application. During the call he mentioned travel in last week of December. He got the approval email later that day.
My AP got done in time but the EAD was huge headache. God bless our local sentor, who was able to get my EAD expedited, hence was able to avoid the scary job loss scenario.
While it seems like consipracy theory, but I do believe that all these delays are intentional, squarely aimed at making the lives of to-be immigrants so miserable that that they have no choice but to leave.

The online case status reflects the notice dates and not the actual received dates....These are the dates the cases were entered into USCIS's systems...

My wife always reminds me this. According to her, its ok to read forums and keep yourself updates with what's going on ... but don't get to much into it, otherwise you will loose your peace of mind.

Hi Guys,
After a long journey of more than Sixteen years in this country, I finally received my GC.
In short, I came in 1993 on J-1 for my training which took six years, followed by one year on O-1 visa and then J-1 waiver for three and half years in underserved area. Then applied for labor certification in Oct, 2003 EB2, through university, which was approved and then retrogressed. Applied Schedule IIA, approved but also got retrogressed. Got AILA liaison and Senetor involved.
Applied for EB1 and NIW in July 2008.
My lawyer was very much involved in the whole process, was very helpful at every step, and wrote letters to USCIS.
Finally, GC came in April, 2009 and received the cards one week later. My PD Oct 2003.
During these time, I actually had no problmes at my job or my my wife's job. Brought a house four years ago.
The main problems were:
Daughter and son could not apply to state colleges/ medical colleges. (daughter going to med school next month)
Got stuck in India for renew of H-1 for 2 months!!! (worst time of my life, with my wife and kids in US) I tied every thing from writing letters to calling Ambasador. Not effective.
Could not go to certain occasions, like death of very close family members, weddings etc.
However, I kept my cool and prayed and got lot of support from Immigration voice.
As a small token of appreciation, I am donating $500 .(and will keep on supporting)
We all are going to get GC, some sooner some later. Just keep on doing you job.
