I've had a look in their 'seven times faster' stuff -- what's the point of comparing a CD 2.16 to C2D 2.33? Apart from that, assuming that it wouldn't spit flames through the vents or sound like a Harrier at take off, I intend to buy one.

I will have to take a look at DoubleTwist, again.
Just an FYI though, it won't sync over DRM content. That stuff is locked to iTunes and any iPod associated with the account.
It's based on demand. If it's still popular its more expensive - no matter how old it is.
The price increase from Apple was mainly done to have the music be DRM free.

Why is this schmuck on the front page? The guy has a history of trolling for page hits. Now that he's trying to get his new site up and running, it's quite obvious what his intent is. He has as much inside information as my grandmother.

As usual American's (yeah I'm American) love to blame someone for their own responsibility. It's so weird how people on here fight for freedom from the lockdowns that Apple puts on it's developers, freedoms from the limitations and restrictions Apple puts on the iPhone (hence why people jailbreak). Yet when a parent doesn't take accountability for their absence of judgement and legal obligation to be responsible for their child, everyone goes off on Apple for not having the protections in place to prevent this?
There are so many hypocrites in this country, probably because nobody wants to take accountability for their own actions. What if it were a gun. If the parent left it on the night stand with a bullet in it, and the kid picked it up and shot & killed someone, would you all be blaming the maker of the gun? No, you'd be going after the parents for failure to supervise their kid which led to actions causing someone's death.
So why is it different here?
IT'S NOT.
Guns don't kill people, iPod Touches making a $1,000 purchase kills people...

Well at lease I will have one to trade at the Apple store once they get some more in...we shall see who has the last laugh.
I will be at the Brea Mall Satruday AM if anyone wants to trade or PM me.
But you still have to wait in line to exchange... So I don't know how having one to exchange is different from just paying cash? Except the fact you're down almost a 1000 dollars now with something you're not using.

Here in the Netherlands we have Sinterklaas, he comes to us first by steamship, and then on a white horse. It is that important that the TV shows him arriving direct, plus tens of thousands are on the quayside.
Gifts are given on the 5th December
Yeah. Every child grows up with Sinterklaas. You can see it as Santa, only this one comes from Spain by boat.(according to the old tradition:D). Most children stop believing in the real existence of Sinterklaas at the age of 9 or 10. But it's always a lot of fun, though.
Sinterklaas comes with a lot of special candy as well. Pepernoten (literally translated it means Peppernuts) and chocolate letters.
Oh, I almost forgot. ontopic:
I really do wish to get my SSD inside my iMac 27" mid-2010 model. That's the only thing. I don't really dare to do it myself, so I still need to find a way.

The challenge
DESIGN A PHONE!
Conditions
1. Must be black.
2. Must be metal with no sharp edges (rounded edges) and be as simplistic as possible. Camera.
3. Touchscreen (no slide out keyboard)
4. Ergonomically friendly and look nice.
5. User interface to be nice and on par with present day interfaces (no 1990s looking icons).
6. Docking interface.
They are all going to look similar.

LOL, If you don't want an iPhone... don't buy it type of song :)
Sounds to me like the real insecure one here is maclaptop, if thats the mindset you have going on concerning phones and image.
My Mac Laptop is secure, Lion told me so ;)

I don't really know what the BFD is with the hype around these music locker services. These services are nothing new (not that Apples does anything new), they have been around in smaller scale the past few years. Problem is, it took too long to upload music, the streaming quality was average at best, and they were too expensive.
I'd like to see how Apple would improve on these services. They will integrate into the iPod UI. That is great. Possibly better upload times (or no uploading at all). But the benefits end there. Cellular connection are slowing at a quicker rate than cellphones are becoming faster. And now we data caps?
Is anyone on here going to delete all the music on their iPhone to be able to pay $20 per year to regain a subpar stream of there very own music? And at a detriment to their limited data amount? Am I missing something??

We are wrapping our best week ever, PPD is now 175k and our outlook is better.
Yet we only have two people using bigadv units... We can do much better
Seems to me like you are trying to say something there
Well, ok then, I will look into it again, just don't hold your breath :p
If I can maybe we could catch back up to team Lithuania, they haven't gotten very far ahead of us, so maybe we could do it, 'course it would help to get some more people folding for us.
I also haven't gotten gpu2 to work on either of my gtx 260's, I think it might be a driver issue because it is a problem for a lot of people in XP and Vista as well

And for those of you who bought the expensive, one-button bluetooth mouse, sorry but...what the hell were you thinking!?
I was thinking that I like the one button mouse, I don't like cords, and the BT one button mouse has the nicest feel of any mouse I've ever used. That's what the hell I was thinking...

the iPhone doesn't compete against Android. The iPhone competes against all of the handsets running Android. And it's killing them. The 3GS as the second best-selling handset? That's frankly embarrassing for Android.
So tell me, in what world is having:
1 - the most popular handset
2 - the 2nd most popular handset
3 - the most popular mobile OS
4 - the most popular tablet
getting "badly beaten"?
That's a very nice spin you put on it there ;)
You actually gave the exact reason why the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS sell more than any android phone. Android offers you so many more choices, that there is no way any single one of them would sell as many units as the two options you have for a phone with iOS.

If I may, because Amazon sells 12 bags cheaper (per unit) than any other store. About once every 4-6 months I buy 12 bags of Haribo Gummi Bears for under $14.00. If you were to buy a 5 oz bag in store, you'd be paying at least $2.99, on a super good day. For me though, I need to put them away someplace where I'll likely forget or I'll eat a bag a day in place of a meal.
Not exactly what I was going to say but hit the nail on the head. It's much cheaper than going to the store plus gas and time it's a no brainer when these can be waiting for me on my doorstep when I get home.
and also Amazon has EVERYTHING!

Does anybody else see the 9.6 inside the apple?
Sept. 6th?
Whatever it means, it's interesting.
I don't see that at all. What I see is "number 9, number 9, number 9." Of course if I put on a pair of anaglyph 3D glasses I also see "the Walrus was Paul." Ha. Ha.

It wouldn't be too difficult for Apple to provide something like Rosetta for iDevice apps.
You don't need Rosetta, iOS is Intel 64 native. You get a copy with Xcode called the Simulator.

Been wanting a new TV for a while; and happened upon either an insanely good deal or a pricing error... in any case, managed to snag this 40" Samsung 1080p LCD for $328 at Walmart. My girlfriend picked one up, too, so we have a matching set. :p Certainly far from the nicest set on the market; but that just gives me an excuse to upgrade sooner rather than later. ;)
