ESTA is valid for 2 years - you only need to do it eithere every 2 years or when your passport expires - whatever comes first - my sister in law is using it to come to the US next week for Thanksgiving and had to sign up for the ESTA a couple of months back when she booked her ticket.
Only thing is it's for Visa Waiver countries at the moment - although I suspect that they would extend it to anyone who has a visa at some point. I believe that's the same thing that the Australians do.

In the instructions to file EAD they say to print name and alien receipt number on the back of the photos.
What number should we write? I-485 receipt number or receipt number for last EAD?

The United States provides 65,000 temporary H-1B visas each year to make up this shortfall -- not nearly enough to fill open technical positions.
H-1B workers, who have united under grassroots groups like Immigration Voice , want more than just an increase in visas. They want the government to streamline the rules.
Currently, the workers have to apply for green cards through their employers, often a lengthy and cumbersome process. Hello everybody,
My lawyer mailed me photocopy of I-485 form ,EAD application and AP form
which she filed last month. I saw that my lawyer has enter my old address (Michigen ) by mistake. My current address is in Illinois. The G328 form mentions the Illinois address as my present address. I had already send my AR-11 mentioning my Illinois address as my new address before my I-485 was filed.
My worry is will the finger print notice,EAD, will come to Michigen address or Illinois address
Pls guide what should I do to change the address on 485 to my new address..

I am on H1 visa and my wife is on H4. Our son was born here last summer with multiple complications, a few of them were life threatening as well. He is recovering well from multiple surgeries but still has issues that require constant medical attention. It is possible that I might be laid off soon and while I am searching hard to find a new job, it is possible that I might have to leave the country to avoid being out of status. With my son's current health condition, my preference is to stay here for some more years till he is completely out of the woods. I wanted to get expert advice from lawyers/members of IV as to what my options are? Will writing to my local senator and asking for a visa that will allow me to stay here even if I lose my job, an option? If so what visa would that be? I have another daughter who is on H4 as well. If we have to convert to b1/b2, is it straightforward and once on b1/b2, can I convert to H1 if I get another job? Are there provisions for parents to get green card based on a sick US citizen child?
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Please while protesting, Try to position yourself in ways where the society will accept you. I took sociology and learnt a great deal and I feel minorities need to find a common ground and establish themselves with a new society. Please do not make them detest us or bully us in anyway. i agree with the above poster. It really should be done in WPF. There are ways to make your own window, but it is hell, and i mean lots of hell. You would have to create a base object that is fully transparent that is where your window is located, then draw on the different areas, but then you need to keep track of those areas for mouse events, and bind the right clicks to the events.
In short, WPF is what you want. The win32 gui is a thing of the past. Some places might still use it, that is only because they dont know wpf yet.

Hi,
My parents came here on last saturday and the I.O at Port of Entry told them he's giving them 6 months to stay with me but when I looked at their passports, my mom's I-94 was stamped for only 3 months whereas my dad's passport was stamped for 6 months. If I go ahead and apply for 3 month extension for my mom when is the best time to do it? They have their return tickets in March and they don't have any intention to stay beyond that period. I was just wondering if it's just a stamping error of if they indeed has given my mom only 3 months. Attorney's please respond.

I want to transfer from H1B to F1.I came to US as a F1 and graduated in march 08.I got my H1B on oct 08.But now i want to transfer to F1 again and i had my visa till 2011. I had following doubts and please help me.
1) I heard that i can transfer to F1 from H1B without canceling(but deactivating H1B) is it true.

4. What happens if my PDate (Old, and assuming that in either case I can port my PD??) is current before company B's I 140 got approved? Can I file I 485 based on my company A I140 As company A still exists???

I am working under CPT from a university. I am not planning to continue school if i get h1b. My last day to register for classes is Oct 10th. My h1b case in USCIS website days it is received and pending. I filed for premium processing on Sept 23rd, application reached to USCIS on 24th. It will be 15 calender days on Oct 9th. In this case can i work without registering at school after OCT 10th?
I will really appreciate any suggestions.
